With over 20 years of experience supporting children, families, and fellow therapists, Rachael brings a rare blend of deep clinical wisdom, a humble presence, and warm attunement. Based in British Columbia, she is recognized for her ability to hold complexity, communicate using the right hemisphere, and guide child clients through trauma with a presence that feels both safe and deeply knowledgeable.
Her work is rooted in classic play therapy, neuroscience, and relational trauma. What sets Rachael’s practice apart is her ability to feel what a child cannot yet say and to trust the body’s wisdom where words fall short.
Rachael also incorporates the practical yet mystical system of Human Design in coaching sessions, offering validation, a life permission slip, and the clarity needed for others to live more in alignment and with authenticity.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Work, a Master’s in Counselling Psychology, and advanced training in Expressive Play Therapy and Somatic Attachment Psychotherapy. She studied Synergetic Play Therapy to the Supervisory level and is part of the facilitation team for Bringing the Body into Practice, a program focused on teaching Somatic Attachment Psychotherapy. Most recently, she completed a Human Design Coaching Certificate Program with Erin Claire Jones at The Humane Design Blueprint.
From her early days in Kamloops social services to founding and leading a successful group therapy practice, Rachael has always followed one truth: healing isn’t something you can force or find. It is something you invite, hold space for, and witness.
She has spent years helping children use symbols, metaphor, and play to process what they cannot yet articulate, and guiding other therapists to do the same—with greater clarity, trust, and embodiment.
This isn’t just her career. It’s her calling.

My approach emphasizes a “bottom-up,” right-brained style of therapy, prioritizing the body’s role in healing and the relational dynamics that support growth. With a keen understanding of right brain processing and the effects of trauma, I have worked alongside families to uncover new ways of connecting, learning, and healing. The approach is holistic and always tailored to the individual needs of each child.
I hold a heartfelt commitment to supporting other therapists. I offer consultations and group supervision for therapists practicing play therapy, sharing insights on neuroscience, right brain relational work, and the unique challenges of the therapy room. I value the opportunity to help others grow in their practice, bringing her own experiences, challenges, and reflections to create a supportive, non-judgmental, co-created space for therapist development.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring nature on dog walks, reading novels and many different creative arts. Through every season of my journey, my dedication to helping others live with authenticity and ease has remained my guiding light.
A collection of reflections, stories, and therapeutic insights, exploring the power of therapy, symbolism, neuroscience, and the impact of our non-directive, somatic approach. Join in on the stories that shape this work and the ways we can bring greater understanding to ourselves and to the lives of our clients.
